Local Control System:

A local control system has been commmissioned to NRT R&D with the scope of having a tight and immediate control of each SCDTL structure. The first model is under construction. It will check the main status of the structure (vacuum, temperature, chiller control, etc) and it wuill provide also acquisition of direct, reflected and cavity power, Video signals, their S/H conversion, it will perform automatic structure Frequency Control (AFC) and it will  have full

Other LCSs have been developed in-house and are based on National Instruments hardware (cRIO, sbRIO, flexRIO) . These LCSs are in charge of subsystems such as magnets power supply, LLRF, beam diagnostics.

For all the machine a Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system based on LabVIEW is under development. The SCADA comprises of a user interface and a server. The server communicates with the local control systems (subsystems), logs and archives selected machine parameters. An NI OPC Server is used to enable data exchange between the SCADA server and subsystems whose communication is based on industrial protocols.  The User Interface provides an overview of the current status of all local control systems and allows new settings to be applied remotely; it provides quick access to machine errors and historical values for all subsystems.
