SCDTL-2

STATUS : in operation since September 2015

SCDTL-2 accelerates the SCDTL-1 beam from 11.6 MeV to 18 MeV

SCDTL-2 is composed of 7 tanks with 5 cells/tank. It receives the beam from SCDTL-1 and accelerates to 18 MeV. Iinstallation is foreseen by mid May 2015

All mechanical manufacture has been done by CECOM srl, while brazing, welding, sealing and mounting are done by TSC srl. First RF checks are done by ENEA at CECOM site. All other tuning operations are done at TSC site by ENEA.

Measurements on Microwave Bench: Structure modes, Dispersion curve

SCDTL2

The measurements indicate the following values:Q0 about  8000 ; β=1.33

Resonant frequency 2998.6 at 30°C under vacuum. The structure has been successfully conditioned at a power exceeding the nominal one (1.6 MW)
